Fathers and Daughters


In 80's Bilbao, a gymnastics team, under the supervision of their fathers, participates in a competition in Berlin.


The film is set in the Bilbao region, inhabited by the working class in the late 80's. In this story, a children's rhythmic gymnastics team gets the opportunity to compete in a championship in Berlin. However, in the absence of the mothers who can't accompany their children, the duty falls to the fathers. These fathers seem to show no interest in either the trip, this sport, or even their own daughters.

The film explores the relationships between fathers and daughters and how this particular situation changes their perspectives of each other. Viewers can observe the fathers' lack of interest in their daughters gradually giving way to understanding and love.

The film was shot at various locations in Bilbao and Berlin. Viewers can sense the life of the working class in 80's Bilbao and the championship atmosphere in Berlin.
