Journey to Ranshima
"Journey to Ranshima" details the story of Yoshio, a single musician living in Tokyo, who returns to his hometown following his mother Michiko's suicide attempt, and enters a fake marriage with Maki, whom he recently met. Yoshio, after meeting Maki one night at the Tama River, returns to his hometown Ranshima with Maki. However, while his mother Michiko is in a coma, Yoshio introduces Maki as his wife to his brother Satoshi. Yoshio, who is the complete opposite of Satoshi, a company employee, has no money and the only thing he can do is to show up. The fake married life of Yoshio and Maki begins. The film offers a thoughtful look at family relationships, reality, and lies. The audience watches how Yoshio and Maki's fake marriage develops and the difficulties they experience during this process. The film was shot in the Shinjuku and Ranshima regions of Japan.
