Malqueridas
Malqueridas focuses on the lives of female prisoners serving long-term sentences in a prison in Chile. These women are also mothers, and their children have to grow up far from them. In the prison environment, they form a bond of solidarity and love with other prisoners who have similar experiences. The mutual support amongst these women becomes a form of resistance and liberation. Malqueridas restructures these women's stories through images they captured with mobile phones, which are forbidden within the prison. In this process, the collective memory of a forgotten community emerges. The film conveys the difficulties, struggles, and solidarity of these women to the audience, engaging them in a compelling way. The film successfully reflects the strong spirits and resistance of these women. Malqueridas was filmed in a prison in Chile.
