Amal: Un esprit libre


Amal, a teacher at a school in Brussels, becomes a target of intense hostility from students and colleagues adhering to Islamic extremism, while assisting a young Muslim girl dealing with accusations of homosexuality.


Amal, an idealistic and passionate literature teacher at a school in the suburbs of Brussels, strives to show her students the power of literature. She believes that literature not only inspires but also provides the ability to stand up for one's beliefs and courage, as well as fostering the skill to accept opposing views. However, this stance meets with significant resistance, particularly among parents. Amal becomes a target for students and colleagues committed to extremist Islamism. In particular, a young Muslim girl is accused of being homosexual. Amal decides to help the young girl cope with this challenging situation.
The film shows viewers how an individual can stand tall and defend their truths in the face of prejudices and societal pressures.
