Ling, a slightly odd but brilliant Chinese student, wins a scholarship to a prestigious New Zealand University. Ling has always wanted to be popular, but this has always been difficult due to his background and appearance. Desperately wanting to be popular, Ling decides to use an experimental drug that promises him a complete transformation. However, this drug brings out a dark side in Ling, resulting in a bloody massacre. Ling is now getting attention, but with horrifying events each ending in a murder. The film showcases how far an unstoppable student can go and the consequences of the desire to be popular at any cost.
