In Pursuit of the Overlooked

A documentary revealing a hidden environmental disaster, exposes the devastation caused by a toxic waste dump dating back years.

In Pursuit of the Overlooked is a collaboration between Pulitzer Prize finalist Rosanna Xia and Academy Award-winning L.A. Times Studios. Just off the shores of Southern California, near Catalina Island, aboard one of the world's most advanced research vessels, David Valentine discovers a rusted barrel on the seabed, which horrifies him. The environmental horror becomes clearer when Los Angeles Times journalist Rosanna Xia is called in. Xia uncovers that about half a million toxic waste barrels were quietly dumped into the ocean after World War II, a situation that continues to disturb the world today. The film presents this astonishing discovery and its implications in a way that engages the audience.

The film was shot on the beautiful shores of California, especially near Catalina Island.
