Journey to Switzerland
80-year-old Marie is tired of her terminal illness and plans to end her life in a clinic in Switzerland. However, she struggles to explain this plan to her irresponsible son Bruno and her granddaughter Anna, who is going through a teenage crisis, and tells a big lie. Claiming that they need to pursue a mysterious inheritance, she convinces them to embark on a journey to Switzerland. In this situation, Rudy, a nurse who has just met from the family and reluctantly comes to Marie's aid, becomes the family's driver on this journey and drags them all into an unexpected adventure. The film presents to the audience both Marie's decision to end her life and how she shares this process with her family, and the dramatic and emotional journey of a family coming together.
The film not only exposes the relationships and individual conflicts within the family but also how helpless people are against life and death. Viewers have the opportunity to question their own lives while watching Marie's determination and her family's process of accepting this situation.
The film was shot in Switzerland and France.
