Mercenario: A Warrior's Story

"Mercenario: A Warrior's Story" tells the story of Spanish mercenario Espinosa's experiences in the war in Ucranya. Espinosa is a young man who was trained in the elite units of the Spanish army and the French Foreign Legion. Originally living in the Arán Valley and planning to build a life here, Espinosa stands out among the foreign soldiers fighting to prevent the invasion of Russia.

The film follows Espinosa's story for about two years. It reveals that war is both work and fear, as well as the effects of post-traumatic stress. Espinosa's real war begins when he returns home to rebuild his old life. The film's audience experiences the brutality of war and the inner world of a warrior firsthand.

The film was shot both on the battlefields of Ucranya and in Espinosa's home country of Spain.
