P-Rock Documentary

In the early 2000s, a time when pop music and boy bands dominated, two South Londoners aimed to carve out a separate place for the alternative music scene. They reached the top by establishing their own music video channel, until someone tried to overthrow them. We explore the DIY nature of the punk, ska, and "alternative" music industry through interviews with the creators, fans, and bands of P-Rock TV. At the same time, we illuminate the community of this music scene and unravel an old mystery about what P-Rock TV is. Many elements of the story will be narrated with dramatizations in the style of early 2000s music videos, using stop motion, 2D animation, and shooting on mini dv and film. The overall tone should be encouraging, emphasizing that carving your own path and sometimes the only way to do something is to do it yourself. The film was shot in South London.
