The story of Kéria, who rescues a baby orangutan at the palm plantation where her father works in Borneo, and her cousin Selaï, who flees from family conflicts.


Eleven-year-old Kéria lives with her father in a city suburb in the Sarawak province of Borneo Island. Kéria, an urban girl, loves stylish haircuts and hip-hop music. Her mother lost her life when she was still young. Kéria has no memory of her mother, but her father tells her that her mother was eaten by a panther. One day, Kéria finds a baby orangutan at the palm plantation where her father works and saves it. At the same time, her young cousin Selaï takes refuge with them, fleeing from the conflict between his family and the forestry companies. Kéria, Selaï, and the little orangutan they now call Oshi will have to fight against the destruction of their ancestors' forest.
