The Banker
The Banker tells the real-life story of Bernard Garrett and Joe Morris, two African-American entrepreneurs who want to achieve success in the real estate sector in the racist America of the 1950s. The duo, who have to fight racism, hire a white man, Matt Steiner, to overcome this obstacle. They train Matt and use him as the face of their own business, while they prefer to appear as ordinary workers. Bernard's wife Eunice plays an important role in the success of this plan. Their plan is successful and they soon become one of the wealthiest real estate owners in America. However, this success also leads them to great danger. The film takes the audience to America during a period of racism, discrimination and social injustice, revealing the difficulties and risks of success.
