In 1923, adventurer Rick O'Connell in Egypt causes a cursed mummy to wake up.


Thousands of years ago, the high priest Imhotep, who lived in Egypt, had a forbidden love with the pharaoh's lover Anck-Su-Namun. When their love was revealed, Anck-Su-Namun committed suicide, while Imhotep was mummified alive in a ritual called Hom-Dai and buried in Hamunaptra, the City of the Dead. In 1923, American adventurer Rick O'Connell guides British brothers Evelyn and Jonathan Carnahan to find Hamunaptra. However, this trio unknowingly awakens Imhotep's curse. Imhotep is revived and threatens the world with dark forces. The film has a series of action and adventure-filled scenes that attract the attention of the audience. Viewers especially appreciated Rick O'Connell's brave and funny character and Evelyn's wisdom. The film is also notable for its in-depth look at Egypt's history and mythology. The Mummy is a Hollywood production, with most of the filming taking place in Morocco and England.
