The Sum of Two

"The Sum of Two" is the story of Henk, an experienced psychologist, confronting his son Renier, who hides both himself and his pain with anger and denial after the death of his wife. At Nicolene's funeral, Henk confesses to the town of Barberton that he leaked the math exam paper. An investigation begins and the entire class of 1990 must retake the exam or lose their math certificates. Henk asks Renier to tutor him, but this proves difficult. His former classmates are furious with this trouble he has caused him. Things get out of control and force Henk to make an impossible choice.

The film deals with a father-son relationship, personal pain and soul-searching, while offering viewers an emotional journey.
