A man returning to Australia is humiliated by local surfers at his childhood beach and declares war to take control of the shore.


"The Surfer" tells the story of a man who returns to his homeland Australia after building a life in America years later. The main character and his son go to a beach that the man frequently visited during his childhood, a beach akin to paradise. However, they are mocked and belittled by the locals of the shore. This situation damages the man's pride and he starts a war to take control of the beach. As the conflict escalates, the situation becomes out of control and the man reaches the point of losing his mind. "The Surfer" addresses themes of materialism, identity and belonging, suppressed memory, masculinity, and rebirth. The film, while catching the attention of the viewers, also confronts them with an unsettling reality. The film was shot on the beautiful beaches of Australia.
