15-year-old Ichigo Kurosaki is an ordinary high school student who has the ability to communicate with the dead. His life changes completely when he encounters the god of death Rukia Kuchiki, who enters his room one night and is able to communicate with him. During a fight, Rukia transfers some of her powers to Ichigo, but Ichigo absorbs these powers completely and suddenly finds himself as the god of death. With these new powers, Ichigo begins to destroy lost souls with Rukia and must balance the fine line between life and death.
