"Squid Game" centers around 456 individuals whose lives are engulfed in debt, joining a mysterious organization with the hope of winning a large cash prize. Participants must complete six stages comprised of children's games, however, the games have lethal consequences. The principal character of the story, Seong Gi-hun, who is struggling with financial difficulties, stands out with his ability to empathize even under inhumane conditions. Other significant characters include Gi-hun's old friend and financially scandal-ridden, Cho Sang-woo, North Korean defector Kang Sae-byeok with a tough past, and Ali Abdul, who wins over viewers with his entertaining personality. The series, while captivating the audience's interest, prompts them to reflect on moral and societal questions. The series is filmed in Seoul, the capital of South Korea.
