Paula, a 40-year-old mother of three, has been on leave for a while. However, when the end of her leave comes and it's time to return to work, she doesn't feel ready. Her latest child, Orso, has worn her out, not to mention her other two kids. In this situation, Paula and her husband, Jerome, take in a young girl named Tess into their home. Tess seems perfect at first glance.
However, Paula quickly starts to feel uncomfortable with Tess's presence. Everyone loves Tess, not just Paula. But Paula notices changes in her home and an increase in household accidents, which makes her look like a bad mother. She feels that Tess wants to harm them, but no one believes her...
