In the Grip of Crypto follows the risky cryptocurrency investments of blue-collar Kansan Mike Alvarado, who is willing to do whatever it takes to save his family from poverty. Tired of the humble life in Kansas, Mike invests all of his family's savings into cryptocurrencies. However, this situation gradually transforms into an uncontrollable gambling addiction and Mike's life turns into a terrifying nightmare. This jeopardizes his relationships with his girlfriend, mentally disabled brother, and drug-addicted cousin in a serious way.
