Journey to Ranshima
"Journey to Ranshima" tells the story of Yoshio, a single musician living in Tokyo, who returns to his hometown following his mother Michiko's suicide attempt, and during this process, he engages in a fake marriage game with Maki, whom he just met. Yoshio, who met Maki one night at the Tama River, returns to his hometown, Ranshima, with her. However, while his mother Michiko is in a coma, Yoshio introduces Maki as his wife to his older brother Satoshi. Yoshio, who is in stark contrast to Satoshi, a company employee, has no money and all he can do is show up. Yoshio and Maki's fake married life begins. The film offers a thought-provoking look at family relationships, reality, and lies. The audience watches how Yoshio and Maki's fake marriages develop and the challenges they face during this process. The film was shot in the Shinjuku and Ranshima regions of Japan.
